From our AD Clinton Gertenrich…

Sprague Student-Athletes and Families,

This is very important information that you will need to know as we are able to allow limited spectators for indoor games/meets at Sprague High School for home basketball and wrestling competitions. We will be sending out limited tickets with each student athlete for each competition for basketball and wrestling at no cost. For home competitions, similar to football and soccer in season 2, we are sending 3 tickets with each Junior Varsity and Varsity athlete for home games, and due to a smaller space in the upper gym, we are sending 2 tickets for our freshmen basketball team for home games. Any spectator attending the competition will be required to wear a face covering while on a school campus whether home or away. After each basketball competition has ended, our Sprague gyms will be cleared, and parents can meet up with their student outside our facilities. If a player swings between JV and Varsity, the coach will have given the tickets to the player playing on both teams.

For away competitions for basketball and wrestling, we are sending a season pass for 1 junior varsity spectator or 1 varsity. Again, there will be only one pass given to the athlete. When a family gets the season pass from their son or daughter, they will need to hold onto the season pass and present it each time they attend an away competition. Due to limited capacity in auxiliary gyms, we are not allowing travel for away freshmen team spectators. A season pass will only be available for JV and Varsity teams and there will not be a replacement if lost.

Events held in our main gym will be streamed live on NFHS Network at no cost. You can set up a free account.

In review…

Tickets used at home competitions will be turned in with the name and phone number of the spectators and it will be used for contact tracing. Please have them pre-filled out for efficiency with entering competitions. For away games, one parent/spectator will use a season pass for the away competition. The parent/spectator will present the away season pass and will hold onto it for additional away games.

Unfortunately, we are unable to allow spectators at the Kroc Center for swimming due to their policies/protocols.

Thank you, in advance, for your patience while we work through the everchanging conditions and protocols we have in place for player & spectator safety.

Updated COVID information, as it relates to athletics, can be found on the OSAA website.

Locker rooms will be provided for students needing to change at school because they attended the same day. Students may not store personal items in the locker rooms. Students may work with their coach to store items on campus while attending school the same day.

Due to Covid protocols, we do not provide water for student athletes. Please have your son or daughter bring whatever water they need for an athletic event. We do have water bottle filling stations in hallways at our school during the day.

Go Olys!!

Sprague competes in the 6A classification Mountain Valley Conference and has a long history of winning district, regional and state level competitions.
