CSS -

An abbreviation for Cascading Style Sheets, CSS is a stylesheet language used to control and describe and visual presentation of a document or webpage written in html.


html -

A markup language used to structure text and multimedia documents and to set up hypertext links between documents, used extensively on the World Wide Web.

Element -

Basically a single component of an html document or webpage, an element gives the browser information on how to display content. Sometimes the word "tag" is used in leiu of this term.


Class -

Defines several elements uniquely within a webpage.


ID -

Defines one single element uniquely within a webpage.


Anchor -

A form of navigation. Directs a user to a specific point on a webpage.


Hyperlink -

Directs a user to a wepage that may or may not be on the same site. Can sometimes be embedded in an image.


FTP -

An acronym for File Transfer Protocol, essentially a way of transferring files from one computer to another.
