Good News From the Visual Arts Department

For the second year a row, Sprague has all three award winners in the high school division of the 2020 Cherriots Poster Contest!

  • First Place - Chloe Elmore (12th grade)
  • Second Place - Molly Searcy (12th grade)
  • Third Place - Camille Decker (9th grade)

This year’s theme was "GETTING THERE JUST GOT BETTER." Students were to envision how they get around (other than driving alone) and create artistic ways to show that in a poster. They were think about this concept as an advertisement for NOT driving a car such as riding a bike, walking, riding Cherriots, riding in a carpool, etc. They were to include the words of the theme and also the Cherriots logo.

Judging was based on originality, theme presentation, and artistic quality. This is Chloe Elmore’s third win in the Cherriots Poster Contest! As the grand prize winner, Chloe will receive a new bike from Santiam Bicycle. 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive gift cards from Oregon Craft Warehouse. In addition, Connie Toland will receive a check for supplies for the Sprague Visual Art Department. Another stellar performance by our Oly visual artists!
