Oregon Art Contest

Our Students Win Again!

In a recent statewide contest sponsored by the Oregon Art Education Association, Sprague has won two of three top awards. The issue addressed by this contest is that thousands of Oregon students do not have access to quality Arts Education in grades K-12, especially at the elementary level. The goal of the contest is to communicate to school districts across Oregon that they should include visual art education in their Student Success Act proposals and invest in K-12 Arts Education. Students were asked to create a postcard design based on the importance and value of a quality art education.

Sprague drawing II and advanced drawing students Chloe Elmore, grade 12, and Ada Whitbeck, grade 9, are our winning designers for the OAEA postcard contest. Their postcards will find their way to every school district superintendent in the state of Oregon. They will each receive a $100 gift certificate to an art supply company which they will no doubt use to create more wonderful artworks.

The Winners are :

  • Chloe Elmore - Senior
  • Ada Whitbeck - Freshman
