Optimist Student of the Month

Eli DenBeste

Eli DenBeste has been a part of our Computer Department all 4 years at Sprague. He has taken all programming classes and web design classes offered. For the past 2 years, he has been one of our lead “techies” and “webbies”. Staff around school know him for his knowledge and willingness to assist. Students appreciate his hard work and ability to teach them a new skill. One of the projects that he has spearheaded this year was the upgrade of two of our “sandbox” computers in our tech room. With permission from the district, he researched, ordered and built 2 new computers for our web team. He was given a budget and found the parts to build a computer within district requirements. He was then in charge of assembling all the parts and installing all software. We talk about “leaving a legacy” in our program – Eli’s computers, web work and knowledge will be a legacy that will leave to our department.
