Racquetball, State Results


Sprague Racquetball competed in the Oregon State Championships this past weekend. Individuals with top four finishes include Hayden Martinez, Leif Tsang, Josiah Lembcke, Ashley Smith, Jamie Stell, Jordan Heater, Stephanie Herschbach, Kristine Holman, Alexis Marciera, Katelyn Smith, Angela Nguyen, Leif Tsang, Lucas Johnston, Briana Turner, and Jordan Heater. Winning their finals were Jeremiah Wade, Anna Stell, Kazhana Hammett, Josiah Lembke, Cheyenne Dickenson, Jeremiah Wade, Anna Stell, Mereyna Fuller, Connor Laffey, and Alec DeHart who won both boys number 3 singles and with Connor Laffey the number 1 boys doubles.

One of Sprague’s four league teams took first place in league – team members include Cheyenne Dickenson, Connor Laffey, Eric Holman, Jason Dornon, Jordan Heater, Kristine Holman, Lucas Johnson, and Tim Holman.

State included nearly 20 highschool teams from around the state including Tualatin, Lincoln, Sunset, and South Ridge; over 800 matches were played at Portland’s Multnomah Athletic Club. Sprague girls placed 3rd, while the boys edged out a 2nd place finish propelling the team to a 2nd place overall finish.
