Sprague Sophomore Wins Design Contest for Awesome 3000 Logo

Alex Tallan, a sophomore at Sprague High School, crafted the winning logo for the 2013 Awesome 3000.

Nearly 70 students entered the annual competition open to young artists around the district to design the logo for the fun run held the first Saturday in May.

Tallan’s artwork will adorn 5,000 t-shirts, 40,000 registration forms and 500 posters. She’ll also receive $100 and a $250 contribution to the Sprague art department.

The second place design was created by Austin Close, a freshman at Sprague High, who will earn $50. Third place went to Sprague freshman Abigail Lowe who won $25.

It’s the first time that all three top designs came from the same school.
